賽夏族人心生畏懼,因此,族人則按兩位存活著矮人的叮嚀舉行矮靈祭典,才能化解此恩怨,跳脫此陰霾,年年才能豐收。 賽夏族矮靈祭與原住民傳統祭儀最大不同是,矮靈祭是非來自賽夏族過去的傳統祭儀,而是經由一個歷史事件後產生的,以「異族」作為祭祀對象的祭典,這點在台灣原住民的傳統儀式中亦屬罕見。
