Tonight’s program carries two themes: one is the finale of Zhu Zaiyu: Light of the Chinese People and two is a musical celebration of the Horse Year. In the first part, we honor Zhu Zaiyu, the Ming dynasty thinker, musician, and scientist whose brilliance in tuning, dance, calendar reform, and philosophy left a timeless legacy. This concluding episode pays tribute to his wisdom and cultural impact. In the second part, we say goodbye to the Year of the Snake and joyfully welcome the Year of the Horse. The horse, symbolizing strength, speed, and freedom, inspires tonight’s music—from classics like Dance of the Golden Snake 金蛇狂舞to vivid portrayals of galloping steeds. Let us celebrate together, feel history’s resonance, and embrace the blessings of the new year.
