This episode is divided into two parts. The first recounts the story of Liu Kun, a statesman, writer, musician, and general of the late Western Jin and Sixteen Kingdoms period, who played the hujia to save a besieged city. The second presents three musical works, each drawn from different sources: the flames of Aleppo, the history of the Great Wall, and the divide across the Strait. Though distinct, they all express the pain of war through music and call for peace. Music here becomes not only art but a universal voice, crossing borders to inspire understanding and reconciliation.
