【This program received the Honorable Mention in the Feature Reporting category of the 5th Journalist Impact Award (Radio & Online Audio Division).】
This program takes an in-depth look at the lives of visually impaired elderly people living alone, exploring the many challenges they face in daily life. From basic needs such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping, to the many limitations in moving about outside, every seemingly ordinary task can become a great struggle. In addition, impaired vision heightens health risks such as falling, difficulty in taking medication, and inconvenience in seeking medical care, which further increases feelings of loneliness and isolation. Many may even fall into depression or retreat into self-enclosure. We invite you to join us in paying attention to this group of seniors, listening to their needs and voices, accompanying them out of solitude, and helping them rediscover warmth and light in life.
